Forecast Summary
Hot and humid conditions will continue today and well into next week at least. Except for widely scattered showers and thunderstorms most of the area will be dry again today. High temperatures today will be in the mid 90's and with the humidity it'll feel like it's around 100. To add to the misery, today will probably be the "coolest" day of the next five. Highs will be in the upper 90's possibly topping 100 degrees at some point with Heat Index readings close to 112!

Very hot! Highs in the upper 90's around 100 and Heat Index values as high as 110.

Marty has been a radio newsman for 35 years. As a youngster growing up in Kansas, he built and operated his own low powered radio station to broadcast the news to everyone in his house. Marty's broadcasting career has taken him from Kansas then on to Missouri in the 1980's, where he did both radio and television news, and finally to Alabama and WVNN in 1997. He's won several broadcast journalism awards over the years. Marty has traveled with and covered former Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton along with former Vice Presidents Dan Quayle and Al Gore. He has covered several breaking national news stories for national networks. He's a graduate of Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology program.
