(NEW YORK) -- Harrison Ford is set to appear in a highly anticipated comedy. The 70-year-old actor will play a veteran newscaster in the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, directed by Adam McKay, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Shooting began in March in Atlanta.
Ford will join already confirmed cast members Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Paul Rudd, along with Kristen Wiig who is new to the cast as well.
Ford is set to star in 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic, which premieres April 12. He's also rumored to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII, which launches in 2015.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is slated to open in December.
